The Hawke's Bay International Marathon followed on from the success of the Queenstown Marathon. I was briefed to create the 'sister brand' to the QM. It needed to look like part of the same family but with its own unique look and feel. I designed the logo to represent the vineyards that the marathon takes place in, with a simple flat aesthetic to match the QM logo, offset by the bright autumnal colours and hand painted headlines.
I designed the front end of the event website, and was also responsible for art directing the majority of visual assets, including maps, expo banners, merchandise, finisher medals, and a large range of print and digital advertisements.
The inaugural 2016 event was a sellout, exceeding all expectations.
